Alvalenti’s hand is dragged across a large roll of paper by his loyal companion Filù, the unpredictable marker and a sort of alter ego who, with its hilarious gibberish and fantastic drawings, invites us to look beyond appearances and suggests other ways of seeing the world and different perspectives. Through cartoons that speak of feelings and sensations, the artist manages to interact with the audience in a crescendo of emotions that transforms any mark into a drawing, to the rhythm of music, alternating between comic and poetic moments and humorous illustrations. The lightness, the live execution skill, and the semi-serious tone with which the illustrator explores the cosmos with his markers—through varied and fragmented themes where love always prevails—are the ingredients of this performance, where self-irony and a sense of humor make this intelligent entertainment show pleasant and engaging. Art, in its transformative power, is displayed here through drawing, with apparent simplicity, creating realities in perpetual transformation, populated by the beauty of nature in its various and converging animal and plant forms, including humans, always seen with a touch of comedy, sometimes even bordering on poetry. The strength of this project is offering the unusual spectacle of live creation, breaking the sacred aura of the artist who, while performing their work, usually becomes a god-creator, with all its possible implications.
