Science is founded on doubt and reasoning, faith is based on the need for certainties and salvation. When we look for a form of existential reassurance in science, an abyss opens up, leading to dogmatism, Manichaeism, fanaticism. This is where the search starts for heresy, enemy of the faith, giving rise to frightening consequences for an unprecedented social, cultural and legal involution, on which the media, the political class and the economic powers leverage to achieve the transformation of democracies parliamentarians into scientistic theocracies.
