Andrea Murgia

Born in Carbonia in 1983. He began to deal with “written” music at nineteen, when with a handful of penniless peons he created the editorial staff of “Il Cavo”. He wrote six reviews and after two zero issues the newspaper closed. Clear signs that our man rightly ignores and galvanized by the prospect of becoming rich writing about music he decided to transform his passion into a profession. He enrolled in the DAMS in Bologna where he had the opportunity to study with totems such as Giampiero Cane and Piero Pieri and obtained a degree in Musicology and Musical Organization with a thesis in Entertainment Economics entitled “Organizing Musical Events in Sardinia: the example of Sant’Anna Arresi Jazz”. Since 2006 he has worked at the Festival “Ai Confini Tra Sardegna e Jazz” in which he holds the role of technical manager and where he had his first contacts with the Free avant-gardes of Chicago, with the radicalism of the New York school and with the brutality of the Northern European school. Meanwhile, he continues to write around the web: (Sentireascoltare, Onda Rock, Rockerilla, All About Jazz U.S.A. Giornale della Musica, Breakfast Jumpers, MUMBLE:, Toylet Mag). Since 2018 he has collaborated with Battiti.
