Born in the city of Cagliari in the year of the championship, he embraced early on the passion for unconventional music driven by the long wave of new wave. Between a few forays on bass in grassroots groups and record and music promotion, in 1996 he founded the paper fanzine “Abitsedea”, among the first to debut on the web, and shortly after, in 2001, he launched the cultural association Memorabilia and at the same time, the record label Desvelos Records with which he edited almost twenty publications including Antennah, (P)neumatica, Hugo Race, nOOrda and Primochef.
A convinced and practicing neosensibilist, serial collector of phonographic supports, specialized magazines and sector publications, biographer, extemporaneous selector for Occasional Travelmate, self-styled cultural disseminator, he now continues on his personal path collaborating with various entities including the collective “Vinyl sardinia”, with the aim of promoting the noble cult of vinyl.
At the Neanche Gli Dei festival 2021, Giuseppe Pionca coordinated the evening of Sunday 21 November entitled “40 years… and not feeling them”.
