Simply by living in a society, every individual is not only registered from birth, but throughout their life, they often unknowingly provide others with a huge amount of information. The System knows who we are, where and with whom we live, what work we do, and what jobs and roles we have held in the past. It knows how much we earn, the money we possess, and where we keep it. It records what items we purchase, where we are at any given moment, and what we do in our free time. Unfortunately, all of this negatively impacts our security, and it is not enough to say, “If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear,” because one can fall victim to mistakes made by institutional bodies.
